Introduction to the nature of this study. 
This series of lessons from the book of Acts as originally taught at the Sunset Church of Christ in the fall of 1971. Each lesson was distributed to the members of the Wednesday evening auditorium class and the lessons were developed out of the Bible from the lesson sheets. The first lesson, just as it appears in this book, was not more than a "boney" outline, which I attempted to wrap the meat of the study. The response was so much more enthusiastic that I decided that the following lessons should be more fully developed, enabling another to teach the material to others. Thus, lessons two through eighteen are full outline studies, which should easily guide the student into an understanding of what the teacher originally intended to convey (which, I trust, is what Luke originally intended). While the lessons are consecutive, tracing the subject matter of Acts throughout its twenty-eight chapters, each lesson is also topical and individual. This will allow for any lesson (even the two lessons on "Christianity Prevails Over Paganism" and the three lessons on "Purpose and Providence") to be lifted from the book without reference to any former lesson and taught separately. - Edward C.
