TOM BARTON is a 1978 graduate of the Sunset School of Preaching (now Sunset International Bible Institute), in Lubbock, Texas; he completed the Sunset graduate studies program in 1979. He received his B.A. in Sociology in 1983 from Texas Tech University where he also spent two years in graduate studies. He served a total of 15 years in the United States Army as a Squad Leader in a Mechanized Infantry unit and later as a Team Sergeant in a Special Operations unit.
Tom is currently a Unit Supervisor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Parole Division where he has worked for 22 years. He and his wife, Rhonda, live in Lubbock, Texas. The Barton's daughter, Amber, resides in Shallowater, Texas; their son, Paul, is stationed in Germany with the United States Army.
