The Exile to John the Baptist study outline was originally developed to accompany a Sunset audio correspondence course by the same name.

While the audio for that course is still available (though no longer a course), this study guide outline has remained popular in its own right. Written and taught by Jim McGuiggan, it surveys (1) the books of Ezra, Esther and Nehemiah in the Old Testament; (2) the historical background that surrounds those Bible books involving the Babylonian and Medo-Persian Empires; and (3) the unrecorded history of the Jews between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the ministry of John the Baptist in the New Testament Gospels.
