Introduction
Welcome to Sunset International Bible Institute’s study of the Old Testament Bible History, Part I. This book will cover the history of the Old Testament of the Hebrew family and the history of the Hebrew nation from Genesis thru Deuteronomy. The question is often asked, “Why study the Old Testament, and in particular, Old Testament History?” There seems to be a reluctance to study the Old Testament because the Law has ceased to be in effect. But the Old Testament is much more than the Law. It is the history of God dealing with His creation. It is the history of the creation itself, as well as the sovereign providence of God as He worked with man and the creation called the earth.
